A low-residue pattern limits fiber and tough-to-digest foods for a short period for some patients during active symptoms. It is not meant to be permanent without medical supervision.
Topics: low residue diet IBD, low fiber diet crohn's, low residue colitis, IBD low residue foods
Common inclusions
Refined grains, peeled cooked vegetables, tender meats, eggs, and smooth dairy (if lactose is tolerated) appear in many patient handouts.
Transition back
As symptoms improve, teams often help reintroduce fiber gradually to support long-term gut health.
