Many people with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis need accommodations at school, college, or work: extra bathroom access, flexible deadlines, modified attendance, or quiet spaces to manage symptoms. The ImproveCareNow Accommodations Toolkit is a co-produced patient resource that walks families through real-world options.

What the toolkit covers

ImproveCareNow describes accommodations as extra support, flexibility, or modifications that help individuals living with IBD address barriers, not special treatment, but practical adjustments so education and work remain possible.

How to use it at your care center

Bring the highlight sheet to your gastroenterology visit and ask for a letter supporting your accommodation request. School nurses, disability services offices, and HR departments often need documentation from your medical team.
